Key Responsibilities
- Record and Monitor Hours: Accurately record the start and end times of all field personnel, including workers, engineers, and operators.
- Maintain Attendance Records: Keep organized and updated files of daily attendance, absences, and tardiness.
- Prepare Reports: Compile daily or weekly time reports, submit them to the head office, and provide regular reports on attendance, overtime, and worker data to supervisors and the accounting department.
- Assist with Payroll: Provide accurate time records to the payroll department for processing.
- Ensure Compliance: Verify compliance with company policies, labor laws, and union agreements related to work hours and overtime pay.
- Site Coordination: Coordinate with site supervisors or foremen for manpower updates and to ensure personnel are in their assigned posts.
- Document Verification: Verify timesheets for accuracy, ensure proper documentation of overtime and absences, and may assist in preparing project employee contracts.
Qualifications
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is usually required.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and good communication skills are essential.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in office software, such as Excel, and experience with timekeeping software or systems is necessary.
- Experience: Experience in construction site timekeeping or a similar administrative role is preferred.
Work Environment
- On-Site Presence: The role requires the timekeeper to be physically present and working full-time on the construction site.
- Exposure: The timekeeper may be exposed to various site conditions, including outdoor weather, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise levels.
