Marine Logistics Specialist

Job Overview:
The Marine Logistics Operator is responsible for managing the end-to-end operational processes for assigned customers, ensuring accurate cost estimations, seamless execution of shipments, and delivering high service standards. This role involves close collaboration with customers, suppliers, and the operations team to ensure efficient operations, address any irregularities, and enhance overall productivity.
1. Operational Process Management:
o Oversee and manage the logistics operations for designated customers, ensuring smooth and efficient execution of shipments.
o Monitor daily shipment processes, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
2. Customer Quotations:
o Provide accurate customer quotations, including tariffs and costs, using the company's platform or direct supplier information.
o Communicate with customers to ensure their requirements are met, providing high levels of service.
3. Cost Calculations:
o Calculate post-shipment costs from suppliers and add them to the invoicing files the costs for both customers and suppliers.
o Generate detailed cost overviews upon completion of shipments and send them to the customer.
4. Issue Resolution and Process Optimization:
o Collaborate with the Team Leader to address irregular shipment handling, stock management, loading plans, or other operational issues.
o Proactively identify areas for process improvement to increase efficiency and service quality.
5. Supplier and Cost Performance Monitoring:
o Monitor supplier performance and communicate any deviations in service levels or costs to the Team Leader.
o Ensure that all cost estimates and supplier charges are accurate and align with operational plans.
6. Customer Communication and Issue Escalation:
o Respond to customer queries related to operational matters, ensuring clear and timely communication.
o Escalate unresolved issues to the Team Leader when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
7. Education and Experience:
o At least 3-5 years of proven experience in logistics operations.
o Significant experience in marine logistics is a strong advantage.
8. Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in logistics management platforms.
o Knowledge of shipping regulations, industry trends, and cost estimation practices.
9. Core Competencies:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
10. Other Skills:
o Fluency in English is required.
o Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
o Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
