Workers' Compensation Case Coordinator

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and articulate Workers' Compensation Case Coordinator to join our team. The Workers' Compensation Case Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Workers' Compensation (WC) department by ensuring timely follow-up, accurate recordkeeping, and effective communication with providers, patients, and internal staff. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel to track and close out cases efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and follow up on pending determinations for open orders in the WC order tracker; close orders once determinations are received.
- Process the daily end-of-day report (typically 60–80 patients) and ensure accurate documentation and follow-through.
- Communicate with providers to confirm completion of open notes and work status reports until both are finalized and closed.
- Submit extension requests and revised authorization requests as needed.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all emails; maintain strong communication with internal teams and external partners.
- Provide additional support across the WC department as required.
- Handle sensitive patient information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Escalate discrepancies or complex cases to the appropriate team members or supervisors.
- Triage complex questions and escalate to appropriate medical personnel
- Ensure accurate documentation of all interactions
- Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Clear, professional speaking voice
- Prior experience in a contact center or medical setting preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. health insurance types (PPO, HMO, Medicaid)
- Good with organizing and communicating clearly.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Knows how to check insurance and update patient systems.
- Can work independently and stay on top of daily tasks.
