The Opportunity
This is not a routine IT support role. As
Manager – Application Support Services
at The Medical City, you will lead a critical function that ensures the reliability, security, and performance of medical applications essential to patient care and hospital operations.
You will oversee the entire application support ecosystem—driving service excellence, aligning IT initiatives with organizational goals, and fostering a culture of proactive problem-solving. From strategic planning to team leadership and vendor management, you'll be at the center of healthcare technology transformation.

What You'll Actually Do
- Strategic Planning & Service Delivery:
Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for application support aligned with business objectives and IT strategy. - Lead and Mentor Teams:
Build and manage a high-performing team of application support specialists and analysts; foster a culture of technical excellence and customer-centricity. - Incident & Problem Management:
Oversee resolution of application issues, minimize disruptions, and drive root cause analysis for recurring problems. - Service Request & Change Management:
Ensure smooth implementation of application changes and updates with minimal operational impact. - Knowledge Management:
Maintain a robust knowledge base and empower end-users through self-service tools and training. - Vendor Management:
Negotiate and manage vendor contracts; ensure adherence to SLAs and accountability for performance. - Application Performance Monitoring:
Collaborate with platform teams to monitor and optimize application responsiveness and stability. - Security & Compliance:
Enforce best practices and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, ISO27K). - Budget Management:
Develop and manage annual budgets for application support services. - Performance Reporting:
Track KPIs such as uptime, MTTR, FCR, and user satisfaction; provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
Who You Are
- Holds a
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred
. - Has
10+ years of experience
in IT application support and management, ideally in healthcare. - Skilled in
IT service management frameworks (ITIL)
and familiar with medical applications (EHR, PACS, LIS). - Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communicator with a customer-first mindset.
- Knowledgeable in
HIPAA, ISO27K
, and other healthcare compliance standards. - Certifications in ITIL or application support are a plus.
