We are seeking an experienced
Application Support Engineer

to join our team, providing operational and technical support for client-facing applications in production environments.

You will troubleshoot and resolve incidents, apply code fixes or configuration changes, analyze system performance, and ensure the smooth running of business-critical applications.

This role requires rotational shift work in either of those shifts below, usually updated every 2 months:

  • Sundays - Thursdays
  • 6am - 3pm
  • 2pm - 11pm
  • 3pm - 12am
  • Flexi 10am
  • Tuesdays - Saturdays
  • 6am - 3pm
  • 2pm - 11pm
  • 3pm - 12am
  • Flexi 10am

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2/3 application support for web, mobile, and cloud-based applications.
  • Monitor, analyze, and resolve production incidents, ensuring timely resolution within SLA.
  • Apply configuration changes, small code fixes, or patches to maintain application stability.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to investigate and resolve recurring issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents and document preventive measures.
  • Support application deployments and release management activities in coordination with DevOps.
  • Maintain application documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Monitor system health and performance using relevant tools, recommending improvements when needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production P1 and P2 Issues.
  • Analyze project requirements and collaborate with other software engineers and other cross-functional teams during the development of the solutions.
  • Build software for systems of any size and complexity
  • Apply best practices in software development

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related degree, at least 2 years of experience with a solid understanding of Computer Science Concepts: OOP, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Concurrency
  • Software Engineering Concepts: SDLC, Scrum, Design Patterns, Security, Software Testing, REST, Web Services, and Single Page Apps
  • Software Testing Concepts: TDD, Unit Testing, Functional Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Test Automation
  • DevOps: CI / CD
  • Database Concepts: Normalization, Concurrency, ACID
  • With deep technical know-how and experience with:
  • Languages: Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Go Lang.
  • Advantages: Scala, Swift, TypeScript.
  • Unit Testing: JUnit
  • Advantage: Scala Test, Selenium
  • Databases: MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Advantage: Redis, NoSQL, GraphQL, Cypher Query
  • Platforms: Android, iOS, Virtualization (Virtualbox or similar)
  • Advantage: Docker or Kubernetes
  • Cloud Computing: AWS or GCP or Azure
  • Frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, Angular JS or Ionic, or similar
  • Tools: Git, Gitlab or GitHub or BitBucket, Liquibase
  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, or Mac
  • Intellectual curiosity with willingness and desire to learn a new environment and tools to advance your knowledge of the platform.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills to manage software deployments and operations management. Strong communication (verbal /written) and listening skills, who can present complex information clearly and compellingly.
