JOB SUMMARY
The General Manager (GM) provides overall leadership, direction, and control of the commissary's operations, ensuring that strategic objectives, financial targets, and operational standards are consistently met. The GM oversees Production, Sales, Finance, HR, and Support Services, driving efficiency, compliance, and growth. This role requires a balance of strategic planning, operational execution, and people leadership, while serving as the primary link between ownership and the management team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute business strategies and annual plans to achieve company goals in revenue, profitability, efficiency, and market growth.
- Oversee daily operations across all departments (Production, Warehouse, Sales, Finance, HR, Admin) to ensure smooth and aligned performance.
- Monitor financial performance by reviewing reports (P&L, cash flow, budgets) regularly and implementing corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Lead and mentor department heads by setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews, and driving accountability in meeting departmental goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (DOLE, BIR, FDA, LGU, environmental, and food safety standards) through proper policies and monitoring.
- Implement and improve operational systems and processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
- Foster a positive work culture by addressing employee concerns, promoting teamwork, and ensuring fair HR practices in coordination with HR.
- Represent the company in key business dealings with clients, suppliers, government agencies, and stakeholders.
- Review and approve major expenditures, contracts, and investments in alignment with company strategy and financial capacity.
- Report regularly to the President/Board on business performance, risks, and opportunities, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Operations, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred. At least 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience, with 5 years in a senior management role, ideally in food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Has a strong grasp of P&L management, operations, production workflows, supply chain, HR practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to set vision, translate strategy into action, and inspire accountability across departments. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams, handle conflict constructively, and build strong relationships with external stakeholders.
