Position Title: Credit Administration Staff / Assistant
Job Summary:
The Credit Administration Staff / Assistant is responsible for managing and overseeing the company's credit operations, ensuring efficient processing and approval of credit applications, maintaining customer accounts, and managing risks associated with credit decisions. They work closely with the finance and sales teams to ensure that credit policies and procedures are being followed.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Application Processing:
- Review and evaluate credit applications from clients/customers.
- Verify and assess financial statements, credit reports, and other necessary documentation.
- Conduct credit checks and risk assessments for new and existing clients.
Account Management:
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and compliance with credit terms.
- Handle inquiries from customers regarding their credit status and payments.
- Manage credit limits and adjustments in line with company policies.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of credit transactions and customer accounts.
- Prepare and maintain credit files, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with regulations.
Risk Management:
- Assist in identifying potential risks in customer credit applications.
- Work with senior management to implement strategies to reduce credit-related risks.
Reporting:
- Generate reports on credit activities, payment statuses, and credit risks.
- Provide monthly updates on accounts receivable and overdue payments to the finance team.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve customer issues and improve credit procedures.
- Ensure credit policies are followed by all relevant departments.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
- Stay updated on credit laws, industry trends, and changes in regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in credit administration, finance, or accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk analysis, financial statements, and credit evaluation techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal teams and customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Experience with accounting software or credit management tools.
