Job Summary
We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Managing Director to lead our organisation through its next phase of growth. This role will oversee the company's overall operations, drive strategic planning and execution, manage profitability, and foster a high-performing culture aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, commercial acumen, stakeholder management capabilities, and preferably experience in managing store operations or overseeing retail teams, with a deep understanding of frontline sales, merchandising, and customer satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Operational Leadership
- Develop and execute the company's overall business strategy in alignment with short- and long-term goals.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments including Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Creative, and Client Services.
- Ensure alignment of all business functions to strategic objectives, company values, and performance targets.
Sales Leadership
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to maximize performance and productivity.
- Set clear sales objectives and provide consistent performance guidance.Analyze sales data to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns that support sales goals.
- Monitor market trends and customer insights to uncover new growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value clients and key stakeholders.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to team members.Ensure compliance with internal policies, standards, and industry regulations.
- Represent the company at industry events and client meetings to strengthen the brand and promote services.
Retail & Store-Level Insight
- Apply firsthand experience in store management to oversee retail performance, ensure effective merchandising, and maintain customer-centric strategies.
- Utilize knowledge of inventory management, frontline team leadership, and store profitability to inform broader business decisions.
- Collaborate with operations to translate in-store learnings into scalable strategies.
Financial Oversight
- Drive revenue and profitability growth while managing operational costs.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and company-wide financial performance.
- Present business reports to the board and other stakeholders.
People & Culture
- Build a strong leadership bench and cultivate a performance-driven company culture.
- Promote collaboration, innovation, accountability, and team development.
- Ensure the company attracts, retains, and develops top talent across all departments.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Deepen relationships with major clients, including Mandarin-speaking partners.
- Act as the primary spokesperson for key strategic relationships and external communications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years in senior leadership roles with proven success in business growth, team leadership, and sales strategy.
- Experience in managing a store or leading retail operations is highly preferred.
- Background in digital marketing, e-commerce, advertising, or tech-enabled services is an advantage.
- Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing budgets and P&L.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a strong advantage.
