ICT Project Implementation Engineer

Position Summary

The ICT Project Implementation Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end supervision, coordination, and execution of telecom and ICT infrastructure projects. The role involves overseeing installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of Cisco network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls), Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems, CCTV, Remote Monitoring System (RMS), Fire Detection and Alarm System (FDAS), and other related network components. The engineer ensures that project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with engineering standards, customer requirements, and quality and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Implementation & Coordination

2. Oversee daily site activities for ICT and telecom installations.

3. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams for the timely execution of project tasks.
4. Prepare detailed implementation plans, installation checklists, and work schedules.

5. Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and technical standards.

6. Network Equipment Installation & Configuration

7. Supervise installation and configuration of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and related network devices.

8. Conduct network testing, validation, and troubleshooting during site deployment.

9. Assist in creating network topology diagrams, IP addressing plans, and configuration documentation.

10. ELV & Security Systems Integration

11. Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems such as CCTV, Access Control, FDAS, Public Address, and structured cabling systems.

12. Validate integration between ELV systems and the central monitoring platform (e.g., RMS/NOC).

13. Quality Assurance & Compliance

14. Conduct site inspections and ensure workmanship adheres to industry standards and project QA/QC guidelines.

15. Prepare and validate test documents such as SAT, FAT, UAT, and as-built documentation.

16. Ensure installations comply with safety standards, NFPA/IEC codes, and local regulations.

17. Reporting & Documentation

18. Prepare daily/weekly project status reports, progress updates, and issue logs.

19. Maintain complete documentation including network diagrams, as-built plans, configuration files, and site acceptance reports.

20. Provide technical support during project turnover and handover activities.

21. Stakeholder Communication

22. Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to project managers and clients.

23. Participate in coordination meetings, technical discussions, and site inspections with customers and partners.
24. Provide training or knowledge transfer to end users when required.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Licensed ECE (preferred).
• Cisco Certifications is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls); Cisco certification (CCNA/CCNP) is an advantage.
• Experience in ELV systems such as CCTV, FDAS, Access Control, Public Address, and structured cabling.
• Familiarity with RMS, NMS, or other monitoring systems.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, QoS, and network security fundamentals.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (single-line diagrams, network diagrams, cable schedules).
• Proficient in tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, OTDR, Fluke testers, and network diagnostic tools.

Experience

• At least 2–5 years of experience in ICT/telecom project implementation or systems integration.
• Proven experience supervising field work and contractors.
• Hands-on background in commissioning Cisco network devices and ELV systems.
