BRIEF DESCIRPTION

The Payables Manager ensures accurate and timely processing of all company disbursements and vendor payments while maintaining compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and statutory requirements. The role also promotes strong vendor relationships and efficient payables operations that support overall financial stability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the Accounts Payable (AP) team to ensure accurate invoice processing, proper documentation, and on-time vendor payments.
  • Verify completeness and validity of invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documents before posting and payment.
  • Oversee adherence to company policies, approval matrices, and accounting procedures in all AP transactions.
  • Review and reconcile supplier statements regularly, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare AP aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and payment schedules for management review.
  • Coordinate closely with Treasury and Procurement teams to align on cash requirements, funding availability, and vendor issues.
  • Monitor compliance with tax and withholding requirements related to payments.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and system enhancements to optimize payables efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers to ensure positive collaboration and smooth transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, disbursement management, or financial operations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience supervising an accounting team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
