About the Mason's role

A mason's job is to build, repair, and maintain structures using concrete, stone, or brick. They may work on a variety of projects, including but not limited to buildings, walkways, and fences.

A Mason's duties & responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:

  • Utilizinghand and power tools to cut, shape, and break materials into the desired size and shape
  • Mixingcement and mortar to lay bricks and blocks, ensuring that they are finished smoothly with the proper tools
  • Layingout and constructing walls, fences, walkways, and other structures
  • UsingLeveling tools to ensure structures are aligned correctly
  • Waterproofingany and all applicable structures
  • Installingwater systems and other systems as needed
  • Troubleshootingconstruction issues and coordinating with the project team
  • Ensuringcompliance with building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations
  • Reportingregularly supervisors to provide updates and address concerns daily and summarized monthly
  • Maintenanceof tools, equipment, and materials on the construction site
  • Enforcingsafety protocols and provide guidance to workers to maintain a safe working environment
  • Suggest-for-Hire, mentor, and train fellow skilled laborers, sharing your expertise and helping to develop their skills
  • Conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments

Job Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience as a Mason unless the candidate has exhibited remarkable results academically or professionally. In such cases, relevant experience can be less than three (3) years, commensurate with achievements.
  • Thorough understanding of construction techniques, materials, and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to address issues on the spot
  • Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment

Please Note

  • This position requires the employee to report to the admin office at Crossroad, Tandang Sora Quezon City but will also be on-call for other sites based in but not limited to Cavite and Laguna from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Working Conditions
