Job Summary:

The General Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role supervises accounting staff, reviews financial transactions and reports, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and government regulations. The General Accounting Supervisor also supports management in maintaining efficient accounting systems, implementing accounting policies, and strengthening internal controls.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative

  • Assist in drafting and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and process flows.
  • Ensure the timely submission and accuracy of all accounting reports.
  • Review and check reports prepared by accounting staff.
  • Maintain organized accounting files and records in both physical and digital formats.
  • Support the setup and maintenance of the accounting system and Chart of Accounts.

Financial Reporting and Monitoring

  • Supervise and review the preparation of accounting reports such as cashiering reports, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of monthly financial statements and related schedules.
  • Monitor budget utilization and assist in preparing management financial reports and variance analyses.
  • Validate transactions and ensure proper documentation and posting in the accounting system.
  • Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions to improve accounting processes.
  • Support audit requirements and assist in year-end closing activities.

Government Compliance

  • Supervise the preparation and submission of statutory reports and government requirements (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, etc.).
  • Ensure timely remittance and proper filing of government compliance documents.
  • Monitor changes in government regulations and update the team accordingly.

Team Management

  • Supervise and guide accounting staff to ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and provide feedback for performance improvement.
  • Provide training and updates to the team on accounting procedures and government compliance requirements.
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, timeliness, and accountability within the accounting team.

Job Specification

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Experience / Skills and Knowledge

  • 2–3 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Supervisor, preferably in the real estate industry
  • Knowledgeable in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Accounting processes
  • Proficient in Bookkeeping Software (XERO) and Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
