The Opportunity
- Installing & configuring Oracle database software
- Creating & managing databases & tablespaces
- Managing database users, roles, & permissions
- Monitoring database performance & tuning database parameters
- Implementing backup & recovery procedures
- Ensuring database security & applying security patches & updates
- Troubleshooting database issues & providing support to end-users & developers
- Working with other IT professionals to integrate Oracle databases with other systems & applications
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards & best practices
Desired Experience
- 5 years of experience supporting large Oracle Exadata environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle Database (preferably 19c and above), including Multitenant, RAC, and ASM
- Proficient in Oracle Data Guard configuration, monitoring, and switchover/failover procedures
- Skilled in Unix/Linux system administration and shell scripting
- Experience using service management tools such as ServiceNow
- Capable of managing, monitoring, and maintaining systems via Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and OCI Observability & Management
- Performs regular RMAN backups and applies patches in production and non-production environments
- Strong in SQL performance tuning using tools such as AWR, ADDM, and SQL Monitor
- Solid understanding of ITIL-based operations, including incident, change, and problem management
- Previous experience in Managed Services or outsourced IT operations is highly desirable
- Background in Windows operating systems and basic networking is an advantage
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related cloud-based database services
- Exposure to DevOps tools and automation scripting is a plus
- Able to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver projects with minimal supervision
- Strong oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and stakeholders
- Self-driven and dependable IT professional with experience supporting enterprise-scale environments
