Assist in preparing high-quality food under the guidance of senior chefs. You will be responsible for basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are followed. This is an entry-to-mid-level position that helps build foundational culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in your section.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
  • Support Commis 1 and other chefs in the kitchen with daily operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and storage areas.
  • Handle and store ingredients properly and monitor inventory levels.
  • Comply with all food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Learn and apply various cooking methods and kitchen procedures.
  • Minimize food waste and maintain proper stock rotation.
  • Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen deliveries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior kitchen staff.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Commis Chef or relevant kitchen role is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
  • Passion for cooking and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Culinary school certification or training (preferred but not mandatory).

Working Conditions:

  • Shifts may include weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Standing for long periods and working in hot kitchen environments.
