About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with Australian construction estimating experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for Australian-based residential, commercial, or civil construction projects. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Australian building codes, industry standards, and supplier pricing to ensure high-quality, precise estimates that support our clients success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for Australian construction projects.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and tender documents to determine scope and requirements.
  • Source and analyze material, labor, and subcontractor costs based on Australian market rates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to clarify requirements and assumptions.
  • Prepare and submit competitive tender proposals and bid documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing trends, market conditions, and construction methodologies in Australia.
  • Assist in post-tender negotiations and value engineering exercises.
  • Prepare cost reports and budgets to support project delivery and financial planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Estimator for Australian construction projects (minimum 23 years).
  • Strong understanding of Australian building codes, construction methods, and standards.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, Cubit, CostX, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not essential).
