Job Description

The ER Staff Nurse provides immediate, safe, and competent nursing care to patients presenting with acute, urgent, or emergency medical conditions. The role includes patient assessment, triage, direct care, and coordination with the healthcare team to ensure timely and effective interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform initial patient assessment and triage based on severity of condition.
  • Provide emergency nursing care for medical, trauma, and surgical patients.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Assist physicians in emergency procedures and resuscitation efforts.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, patient condition, and interventions.
  • Ensure proper infection control, hygiene, and safety protocols in the ER.
  • Coordinate with laboratory, radiology, and other hospital units for timely patient care.
  • Educate patients and families about procedures, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduate
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with active PRC license
  • Preferably with experience in ER, ICU, or critical care
  • Required/advantage certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – optional but preferred
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Able to work under pressure and handle emergency situations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willing to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
