JOB OVERVIEW:

The
Head of Training And Development (SHG Academy Head)
is responsible for building and implementing SHG's end-to-end training strategy across all functions:
Front of House (FOH), Back of House (BOH), and Restaurant Management & Support (RMS)
. This role will design structured training programs, certification systems, and leadership pipelines that align with SHG's operational goals and brand standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and manage a comprehensive training calendar aligned with business needs, brand priorities, and growth plans.
  2. Design and deliver role-specific training modules (BOH, FOH, RMS) and leadership development programs.
  3. Implement a tiered certification framework (Bronze, Silver, Gold) with structured assessments and re-certification.
  4. Maintain digital training records integrated with HRIS and real-time dashboards.
  5. Build a robust curriculum that promotes SHG's values, service excellence, and leadership mindset.
  6. Lead succession planning initiatives and career pathing strategies across all restaurant functions.
  7. Build, certify, and coach a high-performing internal trainer network.
  8. Continuously evaluate training effectiveness through KPIs, feedback, and operational performance metrics.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., ASTD, SHRM, CIPD, ServSafe, HACCP) are a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Learning & Development, preferably in hospitality, food & beverage, or retail
  • Strong background in operational leadership (e.g., FOH/BOH or multi-unit restaurant management)
  • Experience in building training academies, certification systems, and leadership development programs
  • Proficiency in digital learning tools, HRIS systems, and LMS platforms
  • Fluent in English and Filipino; familiarity with Japanese is an advantage
