JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for meeting the daily service installations, maintenance, and repair needs of the customer's equipment. Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers as well as perform necessary administrative duties as required and other duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Field Service Engineer should perform the major function listed below. The position may require additional duties/responsibilities that may not be outlined below, and specific functions are subject to change.
- Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of designated equipment
- Completing preventive maintenance and field modifications
- Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs, internal service records in a timely manner and departmental reports
- Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up
- Ordering and managing repair parts cycle
- Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensure they are properly calibrated
- Utilizing the escalation process to resolve customer service delivery issues
- Training others to use equipment
- Ensuring proper adherence to safety requirements in facilities
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to successfully perform this role.
- Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering
- With at least 3 years of previous experience in the medical industry particularly in installing, servicing, and troubleshooting medical equipment
- Knowledge of computer software and hardware troubleshooting
- CompTIA A+ certification is a plus but not required
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients.
- Project Management Skills (ability to assist with multiple duties including service calls, installation, coordination, and scheduling).
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
- Resourceful, with the ability to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Good skills in customer care
