We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support a growing business delivering Australian Defence, mining, urban land development, and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on producing high-quality civil designs and documentation while collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting to the Civil Team Lead, prepare conceptual and detailed designs including earthworks, erosion & sediment control, road infrastructure, drainage, sewerage, and water networks.
  • Interpret civil design requirements of Federal, State, and Local Government Authorities as well as private sector clients.
  • Engage with clients to address project requirements, ensuring the delivery of expert and high-quality service.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Project Managers, and associated disciplines (transport, planning, survey, traffic, electrical, mechanical, landscaping) to coordinate designs, achieve project milestones, and ensure alignment with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and investigations to verify design and construction requirements.
  • Manage project documentation, schedules, and design revisions, including supporting proposal and bid preparation as required.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance (QA) and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
  • Provide technical advice and support to junior engineers and project teams as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least five (5) years of Australian civil engineering experience.
  • Proven experience delivering medium to large projects, including client liaison, team management, and tracking project schedules and deliverables.
  • Experience preparing engineering calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian, State, and Local Government standards for roadworks, stormwater drainage, water, and wastewater design.
  • Experience in Defence, Industrial, Mining, or Urban Land Development projects across multiple civil engineering fields (road design, earthworks, pavement design, stormwater, detention systems, water reticulation, sewer).
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to resolve drafting issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong organizational and quality-control discipline.
