Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and ground up cost estimates (not just benchmark rates applied to quantities) based on drawings, specifications, and scope of works.
  • Analyze project drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required.
  • Estimate and price civil works including earthworks, concrete, drainage, trench, and other structural elements.
  • Liaise with engineers, client representatives and project managers to clarify project details and resolve discrepancies.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist in preparing tender and contract documentation.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 3 years+ experience in civil estimating and BoQ preparation is required.
  • Have experience with a civil contractor on small to medium conwtruction
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying and estimating software (e.g., Expert Estimation, CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Excel).
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
