Job Summary

Lead Engineer is responsible in supervising the design works ensuring that quality design deliverables are released in a timely manner. Duties include complete understanding of the project requirement, preparation of major design deliverables and review of other deliverables to verify that all are in accordance with the latest Codes and Standards, Regulations and Client's Requirements. This position will report to Sr. Lead Design Engineer / Engineering Manager-Design. This position collaborates with other Design Engineers and coordinates with other engineers from various departments of the company, consultants and Client.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Project supervision and oversight

  2. Prepare design criteria that will serve as the guidelines for senior engineers and junior design engineers in the execution of design works.

  3. Prepare, verify and validate the calculation or analysis.
  4. Review the completed design and drawings to confirm that the design output meets the design input requirements.
  5. Review fabrication drawings, construction drawings, vendor drawings and specification on compliance with the design requirements.
  6. Review specifications for coordination with the plans and other documents.
  7. Check all other disciplines' plans for conflicts.
  8. Provide engineering support for procurement efforts and construction activities as necessary throughout the duration of the project.
  9. Prepare / check deliverable list (drawings and documents list).

  10. Prepare detailed schedule base on the overall design schedule and deliverables.

  11. Team Leadership and development

  12. Supervise senior design engineers and junior design engineers.

  13. Ensure all cross-references to other specification sections are accurate.
  14. Interface with other design disciplines.
  15. Coordinate with client and outside designer.

  16. Develop a complete understanding of the requirement of the project.

  17. Compliance and Quality

  18. Responsible to the Sr. Lead Design Engineer for all aspect of design and engineering.

  19. Analyze design issues and identify possible engineering solutions.
  20. Check and finalize design submittals during tender stage such as Technical Qualifications, Basic Engineering Design Data, Concept Drawings if required.
  21. Ensure compliance with the Safety, Quality, and Productivity Standards of EEI and auditing / accrediting organizations.

Qualifications

Educational Attainment:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture

Skills:
Preferably Registered/Professional Engineer/Architect

Experience:
5-7 years and above experience in a similar role
