Overview

We are a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering comprehensive IT and cybersecurity solutions to SMB clients. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Support Engineer with proven experience in Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and modern security tools. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to operate within a fast-paced managed services environment.

Position Details

Employment Type: Full-time Independent Contractor,Location: Remote — Philippines (must be legally authorized to work)

Schedule: Australian Business Hours

Reports To: Technical Team Lead

Initial Screening Responsibilities

Candidates who meet the minimum criteria will be shortlisted and invited for an initial interview. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing remote technical support for desktops, mobile devices, and cloud services.

  1. Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues.

  2. Managing user accounts, permissions, and security configurations in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.

  3. Performing system updates, patching, and routine maintenance.

  4. Maintaining accurate ticketing and documentation in Auto-task or similar ITSM tools.

  5. Collaborating with global teams and escalating issues when required.

Technical Assessment Criteria

Candidates who pass the initial screening will complete a technical assessment to validate their capability in the following areas:

  1. Acting as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues.
  2. Administering, securing, and optimizing Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments, including compliance configurations.
  3. Managing and supporting EDR/XDR solutions (e.g., SentinelOne).
  4. Configuring and maintaining email security platforms (e.g., Proofpoint).
  5. Performing server hardening for cloud and on-premises systems.
  6. Leading security and compliance initiatives aligned with Australian Essential 8, SMB1001, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Required Technical Expertise

Candidates who successfully pass the assessment and demonstrate the required competencies will be invited to the final interview.

Advanced experience with multi-vendor networking and virtual networks across Azure, GCP, and AWS.

Experience implementing security frameworks such as Essential 8, SMB1001, and/or NIST CSF.

Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert

Additional Advantageous Certifications:

Google Workspace Administrator

CompTIA Security+, Network+, ITIL Foundation

CISSP or equivalent cybersecurity certifications
