Job Description

  • Lead the design and rollout of AWS and Azure infrastructure solutions, working with internal teams and external vendors to align with organizational goals.

  • Administer and optimize Active Directory across multiple sites, including user management, policy enforcement, and implementation of security controls like MFA and conditional access.

  • Drive cloud efficiency through automation and native tools, balancing performance with cost and security.

  • Manage Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring regular updates, performance tuning, and high availability/disaster recovery readiness.

  • Oversee network configurations using Cisco Meraki and collaborate with cybersecurity to enhance network security.

Proactive System Administration

  • Work closely with the cybersecurity team to ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS; perform regular audits and risk assessments.

  • Monitor infrastructure health and performance using tools like Prometheus and Grafana; create dashboards to track key metrics.

  • Develop and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery procedures for both cloud and on-premise systems, with regular testing.

  • Automate routine tasks using Python or PowerShell and mentor junior team members in automation practices.

Driving Improvements and Change

  • Conduct root cause analyses, implement permanent solutions, and share lessons learned to avoid repeated incidents.

  • Lead infrastructure and end-user projects, coordinating across departments to ensure smooth execution.

  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and procurement decisions to optimize service and cost.

Team Leadership and Mentorship

  • Support the development of junior team members through mentoring and skills enhancement.

  • Act as a senior technical expert, resolving complex technical challenges and ensuring clear communication with stakeholders across departments.
