The Cost Engineer is responsible for managing and controlling the financial aspects of projects to ensure timely completion within the approved budget. This role focuses on cost estimation, budget management, and financial analysis, with strong emphasis on preparing and reviewing BOQ, BOM, and labor cost analysis to support accurate and cost-effective project execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed project cost estimates covering BOQ, BOM, labor, materials, equipment, and other resources.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and financial allocations.
  • Monitor actual project expenditures against budgets and prepare monthly cost reports.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality and compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct financial analyses, including variance analysis, cost-benefit studies, and risk assessments, to support project decision-making.
  • Review and validate BOQ and BOM for accuracy and consistency with project specifications.
  • Track, analyze, and report on labor costs and productivity throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Assist in procurement by providing accurate cost estimates and validating vendor quotations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in cost estimation, cost control and financial analysis.
  • Proven expertise in preparing and managing BOQ, BOM, and labor cost analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Telecommunication Industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Proficiency in cost engineering software/tools is and advantage.
