The Cost Electrical Engineer Officer is responsible for preparing, evaluating, and monitoring all electrical-related cost estimates, budgets, and financial analyses for projects. The role ensures accurate cost control, efficient resource allocation, and compliance with engineering standards, drawings, and specifications. The officer works closely with project engineers, procurement, and contractors to ensure cost efficiency and timely implementation of electrical works.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting

  • Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for new and ongoing projects.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to determine accurate material and labor costs.
  • Develop Bill of Materials (BOM), cost breakdowns, and quantity take-offs (QTO).
  • Assist in preparing project budgets and financial forecasts.

2. Project Cost Monitoring

  • Track electrical project expenditures and compare them with approved budgets.
  • Monitor deviations, variances, and unnecessary expenses.
  • Prepare cost reports and updates for management and project teams.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality and safety.

3. Procurement Coordination

  • Coordinate with the procurement team for pricing, supplier quotations, and material selection.
  • Review and evaluate supplier and contractor proposals for electrical materials and services.
  • Ensure alignment between cost estimates and actual supplier pricing.

4. Technical Support

  • Assist in reviewing electrical plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Provide technical recommendations for cost-effective materials and systems.
  • Ensure that proposed costs and materials meet project standards and codes.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain updated cost databases, price lists, and cost history records.
  • Prepare cost comparison analyses and value engineering reports.
  • Submit weekly and monthly cost reports to management.

6. Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all electrical cost estimates adhere to industry standards, engineering codes, and safety requirements.
  • Support quality control initiatives for electrical materials and installation.

7. Coordination & Communication

  • Participate in project meetings and present cost-related updates.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, procurement, and contractors for accurate cost planning.
  • Communicate any cost risks or issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • PRC License (Registered Electrical Engineer) is an advantage.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in cost estimation, project engineering, or electrical design.
  • Experience in construction, industrial, telecom, or infrastructure projects is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation standards.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and load schedules.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php25,000.00 per month
