Position:
Senior Tableau Administrator / Developer

Experience Level:
8–10 years of experience in Tableau Server/Cloud administration and BI platform management

Note:
The client specifically requires someone with extensive hands-on experience as a Tableau Developer in addition to strong administration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage
    Tableau Server/Cloud
    infrastructure, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and secure access.
  • Monitor server health, optimize performance, and perform regular maintenance activities.
  • Implement and enforce security measures including
    row-level security
    , user role management, and authentication protocols.
  • Automate administrative processes using
    REST API
    ,
    Tabcmd
    , or other scripting tools.
  • Support dashboard deployment processes and troubleshoot environment-related issues.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to design, optimize, and publish high-quality Tableau dashboards and reports.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, configurations, and standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 8–10 years
    of experience in Tableau administration and BI platform management.
  • Strong background as a
    Tableau Developer
    —capable of creating, optimizing, and enhancing complex dashboards and visualizations.
  • Proficiency in
    Tableau Server/Cloud
    administration, including configuration, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • In-depth knowledge of authentication methods, user provisioning, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with
    Tableau REST API
    , automation tools, and scripting (Python, Shell, etc.).
  • Familiarity with
    CI/CD pipelines
    and version control tools (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills for cross-functional collaboration.
