Job Description
As a Settlement Clerk, you will oversee mortgage documentation, coordinate property settlements, and ensure the accuracy of legal and financial records. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with lenders, solicitors, and legal teams to deliver seamless settlement outcomes.

The Qualifications We Seek
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Settlement Clerk or in mortgage settlements
- Hands-on experience in mortgage documentation verification and quality assurance
- Strong background in arranging property settlements and managing new loans and discharges
- Experience performing settlements through the PEXA platform
- Ability to coordinate effectively with lenders, mortgage managers, solicitors, and land/property departments
- Skilled in document trailing, compliance checks, and ensuring settlement accuracy
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through in high-volume settlement environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Your Daily Tasks
Mortgages
- Verification of mortgage documentation - Paper and Electronic
- Arranging Property Settlements, New Loans, and Discharges
- Performing settlements on the Property Exchange Australia (PEXA) platform and arranging paper settlements
- Liaising with lenders, mortgage managers, solicitors, and land/property departments
- Conducting quality assurance
- Trailing mortgage documents to custodians
Client Relations
- Assist with the provision of quality legal services to clients
- Develop and maintain client relationships where appropriate
- Identify and analyze problems to deliver effective solutions
- Approach tasks with a client-first perspective
Teamwork and Leadership
- Contribute to team cohesiveness, motivation, and effectiveness
- Participate in team and firm meetings
- Interact well with staff and principals
- Use resources effectively
