Job Summary:

The role of a site engineer is responsible for overseeing the construction of civil engineering projects. Their primary role is to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards of quality and safety.

Job Description:

  • Site Supervision

This is the main responsibility of a site engineer which includes monitoring construction progress and quality of work to ensure it complies with designs and specifications. Ensure that construction activities are conducted according to the schedule and within the project's scope.

  • Technical Advice

Provide technical support to construction teams, helping solve engineering-related problems on site. Interpret architectural and engineering drawings and provide clarity to contractors and workers when needed.

  • Liaison and Communication

Act as a liaison between clients, contractors, consultants, architects, and project managers. Regularly communicate project updates and any on-site issues to senior engineers or project managers.

  • Health and Safety

Ensure that safety protocols and procedures are always followed on the construction site. Conduct safety inspections and promote a safe work environment.

  • Material and Equipment Management

Oversee the usage and storage of materials and construction equipment. Coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries and ensure quality materials are used.

  • Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, quality reports, and material usage. Report progress, delays, and other on-site issues to senior management or clients.

  • Quality Control

Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are met. Identify and address potential quality issues before they become significant problems.

  • Budget Management

Assist in monitoring and controlling project costs, ensuring that expenses are within the approved budget. Identify and report potential cost-saving measures.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
  • At least 2 to 3 years proven experience as a site engineer or a related role.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • License of professional engineer
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
