JOB SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for the efficient purchasing of provisions within the company, ensuring timely procurement, cost control, supplier management, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The role supports operational, budgetary, and strategic objectives, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the organization.

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute all purchasing duties and administrative tasks with competence and quality.
  • Maintain up-to-date purchasing records, pricing, and data in the system.
  • Process all provision requisitions from ships promptly.
  • Manage the daily purchasing process, including requisition evaluation, purchase order creation and distribution.
  • Obtain competitive price quotes and ensure timely delivery of provisions to ships.
  • Follow up on purchase order status and respond to inquiries.
  • Facilitate communication between ships and related departments regarding provision supplies.
  • Assist in preparing board and customer reports.
  • Support the development of long- and short-term objectives and goals.
  • Implement SeaCaterer Limited BVI procurement procedures and maintain supplier and procurement records.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any related fields
  • Minimum of 1 year related working experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Willingness to learn and support others.
