Overview
We are looking for a Business Continuity Management (BCM) Officer who will support multiple locations across Asia and will work closely with management and key stakeholders to ensure business operations remain resilient in the face of disruptions.
The BCM Officer is responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining the Operational Resilience and Business Continuity (ORBC) strategy, aligned with both global standards and local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Contribute to the design and execution of organization-wide BC and OR strategies.
- Interpret and address operational and regulatory requirements related to ORBC.
- Develop, update, and maintain BC and OR frameworks, assessments, documentation, and testing processes.
- Lead regular reviews of Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Business Continuity Plans (BCP), and Crisis Management Plans (CMP).
- Organize and run regular BC and OR drills to ensure readiness.
- Support crisis response efforts and identify improvement opportunities during actual disruptions.
Coordination & Reporting
- Work with stakeholders across Asia to ensure smooth execution of the ORBC strategy.
- Hold regular meetings with the Crisis Management Organization (CMO) to provide updates and highlight any emerging issues.
Risk Management
- Act as Local Control Owner for Operational Resilience and Business Continuity standards.
- Conduct gap analyses, assess impacts, and track remediation of gaps against global and local requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation in system and support control testing activities.
Training & Awareness
- Drive awareness and understanding of ORBC policies and processes throughout the organization.
- Deliver training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities on ORBC topics.
- Produce timely reports on lessons learned from actual crisis events.
- Stay up to date on services and processes to ensure continuity planning stays relevant.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of banking experience, with a strong focus on Business Continuity Management and/or Operational Resilience.
- Solid background in designing, documenting, executing, maintaining, and testing BCM/ORBC and crisis management programs.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence in working with senior management and global teams.
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and transfer knowledge.
- Able to work under pressure, make sound decisions, and operate independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build good working relationships.
- Experience in an international or global financial institution is an advantage.
- Knowledge of process automation, data visualization, and dashboard tools (SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate) is preferred.
