Job Summary: The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of all food inventory within the organization. This includes overseeing receiving, storage, tracking, and rotation of food products to minimize waste and ensure optimal stock levels. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventory Control: Implement and maintain accurate inventory control systems, utilizing both manual and computerized methods. Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy. Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Receiving and Storage: Oversee the receiving process, ensuring that all incoming food products are properly inspected, documented, and stored according to established procedures and food safety regulations. Manage storage space efficiently to maximize capacity and minimize waste.
- FIFO (First-In, First-Out) Management: Implement and enforce FIFO inventory rotation procedures to prevent spoilage and maintain product freshness.
- Waste Reduction: Develop and implement strategies to minimize food waste through careful planning, accurate forecasting, and efficient inventory management. Track waste levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train inventory staff, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ordering and Procurement: Collaborate with purchasing department to ensure timely ordering of food products, based on accurate demand forecasting and inventory levels. Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers.
- Food Safety and Quality: Maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Implement and monitor procedures to prevent contamination and spoilage.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on inventory levels, waste, and other key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all inventory transactions, including receiving, storage, and usage.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve inventory-related problems promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in the food industry.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles, including FIFO and stock rotation.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and systems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php25, Php28,000.00 per month
