We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Planner/Estimator to support our engineering and manufacturing operations, specifically focused on designing and delivering catering facilities and services to clients in the mining, construction, quarrying, and agricultural sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating project costs, developing work schedules, and ensuring that production and deployment plans are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with client requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and client scopes to develop accurate cost estimates for custom catering facilities (e.g., mobile kitchens, site mess halls, modular dining units).
· Prepare detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), project timelines, and resourcing plans for fabrication, assembly, delivery, and installation.
· Collaborate with engineering, design, procurement, and production teams to gather input for accurate cost and time forecasting.
· Calculate material, labor, equipment, transport, and subcontractor costs for each project.
· Assess and mitigate risks in relation to production timelines, cost overruns, and logistical constraints.
· Support bid and tender submissions with well-documented estimates and schedules.
· Work closely with clients to clarify requirements and ensure estimates align with operational realities in the mining, construction, quarrying, and agricultural environments.
· Monitor and update project plans based on actual progress and changes in scope.
· Maintain a database of historical estimates, production rates, and project outcomes for continuous improvement.
Requirements / Qualifications:
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field.
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in planning and estimating within a manufacturing, construction, or industrial services environment.
· Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
· Proficient with estimation and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Excel, ERP systems, AutoCAD/SolidWorks).
· Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
