Management Statutory Accountant

Job Description
We are seeking a competent Management Statutory Accountant to support our Philippine operations in the engineering, construction, and O&M sectors. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of internal management reports and statutory financial statements, while ensuring full compliance with BIR, SEC, and LGU regulations. The role also retains key tax functions, including tax filings, audits, and advisory support, in alignment with the Group Tax Team.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of both financial reporting and tax implications specific to project-based and service-oriented industries, including government contracts, subcontractor arrangements, and asset-heavy operations.

Responsibilities

• Financial & Management Reporting
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with PFRS.
• Coordinate with external auditors for timely completion and submission of audited financials.
• Tax Compliance & Advisory
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (e.g., VAT, EWT, Income Tax).
• Ensure timely filing and payment of BIR obligations.
• Handle BIR audits, assessments, and correspondence.
• Provide tax advisory support for projects, procurement, and commercial teams.
• Evaluate tax strategies, exemptions, and incentives (e.g., PEZA, BOI), in alignment with the Group Tax Team.
• Regulatory & LGU Compliance
• Ensure compliance with SEC requirements (e.g., GIS, AFS).
• Monitor and manage LGU-related obligations including business permits, barangay clearances, mayor's permits, and CTCs.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies for project site permits and documentation.
• General Ledger & Intercompany Coordination
• Maintain an accurate general ledger and chart of accounts aligned with group and local standards.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, intercompany transactions, accruals, and provisions.
• Manage intercompany charges and ensure compliance with global transfer pricing policies.
• Support regional and global reporting requirements.
• Internal Controls & Process Improvement
• Ensure finance processes comply with internal policies and audit standards.
• Strengthen controls around payments, reimbursements, and approvals.
• Recommend improvements to financial workflows, documentation, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
Education & Certification

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy (required)
• CPA license (preferred)

Experience

• Minimum 10 years in accounting, audit, and tax compliance
• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, PFRS, SEC, and LGU regulations
• Experience in engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors preferred

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Familiarity with tax platforms such as eBIRForms, and others
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PEZA, BOI, related tax compliance
• Familiarity with construction accounting and project-based financial reporting
• Knowledge of withholding tax on subcontractors and suppliers
