Position Summary

The Fleet Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company's fleet, ensuring efficient dispatching, vehicle utilization, maintenance coordination, and compliance with safety standards. This role supervises drivers, monitors fleet performance, and ensures timely and cost-effective execution of transport and logistics activities.


Key Responsibilities
1. Fleet Operations Management
  • Oversee daily fleet activities, including vehicle assignment, dispatch, routing, and scheduling.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of vehicles to support operational requirements.
  • Monitor fleet movement through GPS or tracking systems and address route concerns.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to meet transport needs.
2. Driver Supervision
  • Lead and supervise drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies, driving standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching or corrective action when necessary.
  • Manage driver schedules, attendance, and trip assignments.
3. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair of vehicles with the maintenance team or external service providers.
  • Ensure vehicles meet regulatory, safety, and operational standards at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and certifications.
4. Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure fleet operations comply with government regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Maintain updated documentation such as vehicle registrations, insurance, permits, and inspection reports.
  • Prepare and submit operational reports (fuel consumption, mileage, incidents, maintenance logs).
5. Cost & Resource Management
  • Monitor fuel usage, maintenance expenses, and operational costs.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure proper allocation and usage of fleet resources.
6. Incident & Risk Management
  • Respond to road incidents, accidents, and emergencies involving company vehicles.
  • Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective or preventive actions.

Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, or dispatching.
  • With supervisory experience is an advantage.
