Position Overview:

We are establishing a pioneering Learning & Leadership Academy to build a pipeline of compassionate, transformational healthcare leaders, anchored in the Human Experience principles.

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to design, develop, and evaluate innovative learning solutions that inspire excellence, empathy, and leadership across all levels of the healthcare workforce.

The ideal candidate combines expertise in instructional design, a solid understanding of adult learning theory, and experience developing leadership, soft skills, and clinical education in a healthcare or academic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, clinical leaders, and the Human Experience team to conduct needs analyses and design impactful learning interventions.
  • Develop curricula, programs, modules, and materials for:
  • Leadership development (frontline to senior levels)
  • Soft skills (communication, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution)
  • Patient-centered care and human experience practices
  • Create engaging and evidence-based learning content (instructor-led, blended, e-learning, microlearning).
  • Develop clear learning objectives, assessments, and evaluation metrics aligned with organizational goals.
  • Continuously assess and improve learning solutions based on participant feedback, outcomes data, and evolving best practices.
  • Support facilitation, coaching, and train-the-trainer programs where required.
  • Ensure all learning materials are accessible, culturally sensitive, and aligned with adult learning principles.
  • Leverage learning technologies, simulations, and experiential learning strategies effectively.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Certifications in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, ATD CPLP, or similar are a plus.

Experience:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in instructional design, preferably in a healthcare, hospital, or academic medical center environment.
  • Proven experience designing leadership and soft skills programs.
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals, educators, or in patient experience/human experience initiatives strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows, healthcare culture, and interdisciplinary team dynamics is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Strong grasp of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Creative and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in e-learning tools (Articulate, Captivate, LMS platforms), MS Office, and collaboration tools.
  • Excellent priority management skills
