Position Title: Cook

Reports To: Kitchen Supervisor / Store Manager

Department: Back of House (BOH)

Location: Tordesillas Makati, The Pantree Modern Cafeteria

Position Summary

The Cook at The Pantree is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items consistently according to the brand's standards. This role ensures that each dish reflects The Pantree's promise of affordable yet high-quality comfort food, while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook dishes following The Pantree's recipes, portioning standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Ensure all food served is fresh, properly cooked, and delivered on time.
  • Assist in daily mise en place (food preparation, cutting, marinating, measuring ingredients).
  • Monitor stock levels and inform supervisor of shortages or needed supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist in receiving and proper storage of deliveries.
  • Minimize food waste by practicing proper portion control and storage methods.
  • Collaborate with fellow kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Support new menu launches, seasonal specials, and kitchen trials as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of cooking experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, or catering setup (fresh graduates of culinary programs may apply).
  • Knowledge of Filipino, Pan-Asian, and international comfort food is a plus.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
  • Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
