Job Summary

Data Analyst Job Description
We are seeking a professional to join our multi-brand retail business to update, cleanse and maintain our inventory database. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and excellent communication skills. This role requires someone who can manage tasks with precision, collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use Excel to update inventory pricing in accordance with supplier pricelists
  • Utilise intermediate to advanced Excel skills for data cleansing and maintenance e.g. identify and correct inconsistencies within the inventory database such as duplicate inventory items
  • Ensure the inventory database is consistent with supplier catalogues and pricelists e.g. discontinued items are identified, categories and descriptions match supplier pricelists and catalogues
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Streamline data maintenance processes
  • Ongoing collaboration with team members to ensure seamless workflow and task execution

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel e.g. intermediate formulas (VLOOKUP/ XLOOKUP, indexed searches, nested rules), pivot tables
  • Previous experience using Excel within a professional role to maintain, cleanse and analyse data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset

Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):

  • Experience in the retail sector or relevant field
  • Familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications and Power BI
  • Prior experience (2 + years preferred) working in a data analyst role
