The Collection Associate plays a vital role in supporting the loan repayment and collections process at AFC Motors. The role involves proactively following up on current accounts to encourage timely amortization payments, reconciling actual payments against expected collectibles, and addressing client inquiries related to their loans. The Collection Associate also serves as a key support to AFC Motors' third-party collection agencies by providing necessary information and documentation to help rehabilitate and resolve accounts that are 6 days past due or more.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Loan Repayment Follow-up

  • Proactively contact clients with upcoming or missed amortization payments (0–5 days past due)
  • Send timely reminders via SMS, call, or email to encourage on-time payments
  • Document all collection efforts and client feedback for internal records

2. Payment Reconciliation

  • Track daily payments and reconcile against collectibles
  • Coordinate with Accounting for payment posting
  • Flag and investigate discrepancies in payments or client records

3. Client Servicing

  • Respond to client inquiries regarding payment schedules, loan balances, pre-termination computation and methods of payment
  • Provide accurate and courteous assistance to resolve concerns and maintain good client relationships
  • Issue payment confirmations and statements of account as needed

4. Support to Third-Party Collection Agencies

  • Assist in coordinating with AFC Motors' third-party collection agencies for accounts over 6 days past due
  • Provide complete and timely access to client data, payment history, contact details, and other documentation required for account rehabilitation
  • Assist in clarifying any issues or errors raised by agencies to support resolution efforts

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain organized records of all collections activities and client interactions
  • Submit regular updates and collection performance reports to the Credit Manager
  • Escalate accounts that show signs of delinquency or unresponsiveness based on internal policy
