About the role

The Property Engineer is primarily responsible for assisting the Property Manager in overseeing, controlling, and planning the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the assigned properties, buildings, facilities, and equipment. He/She is responsible for preparing documentation and other administrative tasks as needed by the Property Manager.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Property Manager in ensuring efficient building operations, covering systems, maintenance, tenant concerns, projects, renewals, and resource management.
  • Assist the PM in ensuring semi-annual servicing of AC units and preparing PRFs for needed parts or third-party services, oversee delivery of contracted services under PM Fees, including maintenance, reporting, and tenant support, and support in preparing project material cost estimates.
  • Assist the PM in delegating tasks to technicians, monitoring scheduled maintenance activities and work outputs, tracking the ticketing system and pending issues, handling correspondences, and preparing RFPs and PRFs for review and approval.
  • Monitor compliance with building codes and regulations, ensuring all property permits and regulatory requirements are renewed before deadlines.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam)
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications are preferred for this role
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Property Engineer or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting building plans and specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards
