Steven and Hudson Playschool welcomes Psychology and Education students, even those without a teaching license yet to apply as Assistant Teachers for part-time roles supporting daily classroom operations. Scheduled up to twice a week, interns will assist lead teachers in maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment. Responsibilities include supervising children during play, meals, and rest; helping set up and lead creative activities such as art, music, and story-time; and attending to basic care needs like toileting and handwashing. Interns are expected to model positive behavior, encourage peer interaction, and gently reinforce classroom routines.

Additional duties include greeting families during drop-off and pick-up, helping clean and organize classroom materials, and supporting various age groups as needed. Interns will gain hands-on experience by observing teaching strategies, participating in staff meetings, and receiving feedback for growth. This role offers valuable exposure to child development, behavior observation, and early education practices.

Assistant Teacher's who consistently show reliability, initiative, and genuine care may be considered for full-time teaching roles, entrusted with responsibilities comparable to licensed educators. Upon successful evaluation and strong performance, they may also be offered competitive compensation and long-term placement within the team.
