Job Description

As a Post Closing Specialist, you'll play a vital role in managing and resolving investor loan deficiencies. You'll use your knowledge of processing, underwriting, and closing to ensure every loan file meets standards, keeping transactions accurate, compliant, and on track for successful completion.

The Qualifications We Seek

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in recent mortgage closing and/or post-closing activities, with extensive knowledge of Regulatory and Investor guidelines for various loan programs.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of management and third-party vendors.
  • Independent worker with strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Review investor loan deficiencies and use processing, underwriting, and closing knowledge to resolve issues without involving the underwriter, branch, or borrower.
  • Review daily deficiency loan pipelines on investor sites to identify suspended loans requiring action.
  • Analyze and validate all suspense conditions and resolve them by the cure-by date.
  • Request clarification from investors to determine the exact documentation needed to clear defects.
  • Review closed loan files to check if suspense items are already present.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and borrowers to collect documentation promptly.
  • Prepare formal written responses to agencies or investors following audits and findings.
  • Track and record all events and communications related to loan files accurately.
  • Monitor daily condition reports from investors for updates on deficient loans or new conditions.
  • Monitor aged loans in the active pipeline until investor purchase is complete.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of agency and investor guidelines and overlays.
  • Meet daily production goals set by management and comply with internal SLA timelines.
  • Maintain customer confidence by delivering quality service and keeping information confidential.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, multitasking, and teamwork under strict deadlines.
