ABOUT US

Unileap Limited is a Hong Kong based software development/IT consultancy company formed end of 2014. The founder has previously been running a similar company in Sweden for 7 years. We help our customer by putting together dedicated teams for product- and project development. We see ourselves as an outsourced product development department.

Our teams consist of highly skilled and experienced people with a focus on long-term relations, internally within Unileap as well as towards our customers. Our goal is to make Unileap Limited one of the best places to work.

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will have a strong command of software architecture, programming, latest web technologies and frameworks. You are highly motivated with an attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision. You are also used to work together with other developers in a virtual team setup. You love challenges and you are a fast learner. Excellent English skills needed.

You have a reliable Internet connection and computer setup and most likely you have a dedicated workspace at home.

It is preferable if you live in the Philippines since thats where the development team is located and it's easier to keep the team together in the same timezone, same culture and same holiday scheme.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The focus will be on backend/functionality programming and you will work together with designers and frontend developers to back you up. But depending on knowledge and interest you could be taking part of frontend programming using JavaScript.

Responsibilities
  • Drive architecture and implementation for the core backend services that will power the content on new devices
  • Implement code focused on high availability and reliability
Required skills
  • 4+ years of programming experience
  • 2+ years of experience developing in Go.
  • Experience in developing complex server-based applications and web services
  • Experience with scaling backend systems
  • Solid understanding of various HTTP methods, request/response workflow, sessions/cookies, persistence, caching, security and performance
  • Excellent communication skills 
Good to have/bonus skills
  • Strong understanding of object oriented software principles and design patterns
  • Experience of frontend development using JavaScript (for example or )
  • Experience with Image manipulation
  • Experience with message queues / scalable solutions
  • Git
  • Jira
  • Experience of Scrum
  • Amazon AWS experience
  • Linux and webservers
  • Being active in Open Source community
  • TDD
BENEFITS AND TERMS
  • Weekly pay using Paypal or bank wire for the first month, after that bi-weekly (on the 15th and last of the month).
  • Work hours: 8h a day, normal office hours (Philippine time zone). 40h/week. 
  • Traditional 13 bonus month paid 
  • ALL official Ph holidays paid (16 for 2015)
  • Every second month you work, you earn 1 personal day which can be used as sick days or vacation days (6 Days per Year, maximum of 12)
