Position: Research and Development Formulator

Work Setup: Mon to Fri – Onsite, Sat - Remote

Role Summary

You are the R&D Formulation Catalyst that drives the creation of innovative powdered beverage and beauty products from concept to prototype. This role is centered on bench chemistry, optimizing ingredient synergy, and ensuring the sensory attributes (flavor, texture, solubility) meet market demands and client specifications. You are the engine of the R&D kitchen and laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulation & Prototyping:

Execute bench-scale experiments to develop new formulations for powdered beverages and beauty items, focusing heavily on
ingredient interaction, dissolution profile, and sensory testing

.
- Recipe Optimization:

Systematically adjust and refine existing client recipes to improve stability, cost-efficiency, and consumer appeal (flavor/fragrance matching, color stabilization).
- Ingredient Functionality Studies:

Conduct targeted research and testing on new or alternative raw materials to understand their specific impact on the final product's structure, stability, and efficacy.
- Scale-Up Support:

Work closely with the Production team to translate optimized bench-scale formulas into pilot batches and commercial runs, anticipating and troubleshooting potential processing issues related to blending and powder technology.
- General R&D Support:

Must be prepared to assist across all R&D activities, including documentation, analytical testing, and stability programs, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

Education and Technical Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology (or a closely related field, such as Food Science or Chemical Engineering).
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Processing Techniques, Food Safety, and Regulatory Standards.
  • Proven ability to assist in new product formulation, recipe optimization, ingredient functionality studies, and shelf-life testing.

Skills and Experience:

  • Skilled in using laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, refractometers, blenders, particle size analyzers).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct experiments, perform precise data collection, and interpret analytical results to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality and precision.
