Role Overview
You will be the first HR hire and the go to person for all human resources matters. You will build the foundations for hiring, culture, performance, compensation, compliance, and day to day people operations. This role blends strategy and hands-on execution. You will create clarity, ship processes that work, and help leaders and teammates do their best work.
Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition
- Create a simple hiring plan with clear role definitions, scorecards, and interview loops
- Source and screen candidates, manage pipelines, schedule interviews, and run reference checks
- Train interviewers on structured interviews and reduce time to hire
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Design a ninety day onboarding playbook with role specific checklists and success measures
- Coordinate accounts, access, equipment, and policy acknowledgments
- Run respectful and compliant offboarding, including checklists and documentation
People Operations and HR Admin
- Maintain employee records and contracts, organize files, and ensure data privacy
- Set up and administer HRIS and simple workflows such as leaves, timekeeping if needed, and changes in status
- Own payroll inputs, government contributions, and benefits enrollment in partnership with Finance
Compensation and Benefits
- Maintain salary bands and job levels, track changes and approvals
- Benchmark roles with market data and prepare simple compensation proposals
- Administer benefits, vendor relationships, and periodic renewals
Performance and Development
- Introduce lightweight goal setting and feedback rhythms
- Coach managers on one on ones, feedback, and performance conversations
- Coordinate learning sessions and curate resources for role specific growth
Culture and Employee Relations
- Act as a trusted and confidential partner for employees and managers
- Run regular pulse checks and share insights with leadership
- Organize team rituals and simple recognition programs that fit our culture
Policies, Compliance, and Risk
- Draft, socialize, and maintain the employee handbook and HR policies
- Ensure compliance with local labor requirements and company standards
- Maintain incident logs and lead basic investigations when needed
People Analytics and Reporting
- Build a simple metrics dashboard that covers headcount, hiring funnel, time to fill, attrition, engagement signals, and payroll related views
- Share monthly HR reports with leadership and recommend actions
Qualifications
Must Haves
- Three or more years of end to end HR experience across hiring, operations, and employee relations
- Proven ability to design simple processes and run them solo
- Strong working knowledge of local labor requirements and HR compliance
- Excellent communication, discretion, and stakeholder management
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, HRIS, and documentation tools
Nice to Haves
- Experience in a startup or small company environment
- Background in compensation benchmarking and job leveling
- Exposure to basic organizational development or change management
