Thynker Tech: Systems and Applications Administrator

The Systems & Applications Administrator will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and integration of company applications and systems, ensuring stable operations and effective performance. This is a hands-on individual contributor role at the start, with the intent to evolve into a team-managed function in the future to support scalability and redundancy. The role focuses primarily on applications and their integrations with other systems while also requiring a solid understanding of database structures and IT best practices. Over time, the position will expand to include strategic IT planning once a deep familiarity with the company's environment has been developed.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Administration

  • Administer, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot enterprise applications such as Microsoft Dynamics, Student Information System (SIS), and Learning
  • Management System (LMS), and Learning Application.
  • Manage integrations between core applications, ensuring seamless data flow and minimal downtime.

Systems & Infrastructure Support

  • Perform system installation, configuration, and patch management for application-related environments.
  • Monitor application and system performance, availability, and security.
  • Ensure proper access controls and security compliance in line with IT policies.

Database Management

  • Perform database backups, queries, and monitoring for performance and reliability.
  • Support SQL/NoSQL databases connected to enterprise applications.

Cloud & Automation

  • Support and maintain services hosted on AWS, n8n, and Supabase.
  • Assist in automation, scripting, and monitoring to optimize application processes.

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Maintain clear technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge bases for application and system processes.
  • Collaborate with IT team members, cross-functional stakeholders, and vendors to resolve application issues and implement improvements.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of server administration (Windows/Linux), access control, and IT security best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure preferred).
  • Familiarity with automation/scripting tools and monitoring solutions.
  • Database skills (SQL/NoSQL) for administration, queries, and backups.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational ability.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across teams.

Preferred Certifications:

  • AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL certifications are a plus (not required).
