The in house Lawyer is responsible for managing all legal affairs within the company and its affiliates, providing legal advice on business operations, reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, representing the company in legal proceedings, and mitigating legal risks by proactively identifying potential issues and advising on preventive measures; essentially acting as the primary legal counsel for the organization.

Contract review and drafting: Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting various contracts including vendor agreements, employment contracts, partnership deals, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.

Legal advice and counsel: Providing legal advice to different departments within the company on a range of issues like corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory matters.

Compliance management: Monitoring and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including conducting internal compliance audits and implementing necessary procedures.

Litigation support: Representing the company in legal disputes, including pre-trial discovery, court appearances, and settlement negotiations.

Legal research and analysis: Conducting thorough legal research on complex issues to provide accurate and timely legal opinions.

Risk assessment and mitigation:Identifying potential legal risks associated with business operations and recommending preventative measures to minimize liability.

Corporate Governance and Compliance: Ensure the organization's corporate governance framework is robust and up to date. Advise on compliance with laws governing corporate, financial, and employment practices.

Relationship Management: Serve as the primary legal point of contact for senior management, stakeholders, and board members. Foster strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth legal operations.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess Bachelor's Degree in Law.
  • Member: Membership of the Bar Association and good standing to practice law
  • Having minimum 5 years working experience as in-house legal.
  • Proven experience in corporate law, including contract drafting, compliance, and litigation.
  • Eager to learn and have strong knowledge in corporate business law
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate legal issues and provide practical solutions
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and external parties
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously
  • Willing to work on-site from Monday to Friday at Manila office
