Cost Accountant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Monitor and analyze cost variances (material, labor, and overhead) and provide actionable insights.
  • Maintain accurate inventory valuation in coordination with warehouse and production departments.
  • Perform monthly closing activities related to cost accounting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, focusing on cost estimation and margin analysis.
  • Work closely with production, procurement, and operations teams to ensure cost accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular cost audits and stock take reconciliations.
  • Prepare cost analysis reports for management decision-making.
  • Support ERP implementation or enhancements relating to costing modules (if applicable).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, preferably in the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standards, and procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
