As a Steel Frame Detailer at Realcognita. You will be responsible for creating accurate and comprehensive frame drawings and construction documents based on architectural and engineering designs. Your expertise in drafting software (FrameCad or Revit experience necessary) and understanding of construction processes will be instrumental in translating conceptual designs into practical, buildable structures.

Job requirements

  • Diploma or certificate in Engineering Detailing or equivalent (preferred).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Framing Detailer or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of structural systems, construction techniques, and materials.

  • Experience with FrameCad or Revit software required.

  • Familiarity with relevant building codes and industry standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review various drawings, calculations, and specifications to understand project requirements.

  • Prepare detailed 3D drawings and models for structures using the drafting software FrameCAD or REVIT

  • Ensure that all drawings comply with building codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Coordinate with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to clarify design intent and resolve any issues.

  • Incorporate design changes and updates into existing drawings as required.

  • Generate material lists (BOM) and schedules for procurement and fabrication purposes with the assistance of our innovative software.

  • Generate fabrication and assembly drawings and buy-in components and connections.

  • Coordinate with other detailing team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in drawings.

  • Conduct quality checks on drawings to identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies.

  • Collaborate with installation teams and provide necessary support during the installation process.

  • Maintain organised documentation, communication and files of all drawings and revisions in the company ERP system.
