Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management: Research and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
  • Procurement Process: Place bulk orders, track delivery progress, and resolve any shipping or quality issues with suppliers.
  • Inventory and Record Keeping: Track company stock levels, invoices, and deliveries, while also performing inventory inspections. Maintain meticulous records of all orders, payments, and supplier communications.
  • Quality and Cost Control: Ensure the company acquires goods and services of the required quality at the best possible prices.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work with other departments, such as production, inventory management, and finance, to align purchasing with organizational goals.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.

  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to benefit the company.
  • Analytical Skills: Competence in conducting market research, analyzing costs, and evaluating supplier performance.

  • Commercial Awareness: An understanding of the company's business strategy and how purchasing decisions impact profitability.
