POSITION OVERVIEW
The Finance Manager (FM) shall provide expert financial management support for AF, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of the organization's financial systems and strategies. This includes overseeing budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with statutory requirements. The role involves a "medium level" of complexity, requiring competent analytical skills and attention to detail to maintain the organization's financial health and sustainability.
SMART Objectives: The Finance Manager should deliver timely and accurate financial reports, manage budgets efficiently, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and external regulations.
This is a
FULL-TIME REGULAR
position that reports to the Executive Director, works closely with the Program Officer/Administrative and Finance Officer, and coordinates with the rest of the AF Secretariat.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Planning
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
- Consolidate program/project budgets
- Determine priority of accounts to be paid
- Prepare budget charges coding
2. Accounting
- Record all financial transactions in the books of account
- Monitor bank balance
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Review cash flow and liquidation of cash advances
- Prepare subsidiary ledger/trial balance journal entries
3. Payroll Administration
- Ensure timely payroll payment
- Ensure timely government remittances payment (i.e., SSS, Pag-Ibig, PhilHealth)
4. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including budget vs. expenditure analysis
- Prepare cash position
- Ensure regular reporting to government agencies (i.e., BIR, SEC)
- Prepare and/or check report to donor agencies as required
- Prepare reports for the external auditor
- Assist in the annual external audit of books of account
5. Financial Investment
- Oversee the monitoring of financial investments
- Prepare investment schedule with due date
- Regularly review the Investment Policy Statement
6. Asset Management
- Oversee the accurate accounting and valuation of all assets
- Prepares asset schedules
- Conduct annual physical inventory
7. Others
- Undertake other tasks as may be assigned by the Executive Director

PLACE IN THE ORGANIZATION
- REPORTS TO: AF Executive Director
- WORKS WITH: Program Officer/Administrative and Finance Officer; AF Secretariat
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in the non-profit sector
- Proficiency in using financial software and tools; familiarity with Oracle-NetSuite, a plus
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements
WORK ARRANGEMENT
Work days: Monday to Friday
Work Hours: 9:00 AM to 6 PM
Must report to the AF office at least three days in a week and two days may be a hybrid interface, combining work-from-home and office-based work arrangement. The Association of Foundations' office is located at 14/F Aurora Tower, Aurora Boulevard, Cubao, Quezon City.
